Teachers understand student learning and
development and respect the diversity of the
students they teach

Teachers get to know their students and traditions to the best of their ability and incorporate that into learning as much as possible to show respect and do the job effectively

Teachers know and understand the content area
for which they have instructional responsibility.

Teachers learn and understand the material, pass state tests, and practice their knowledge under the instructional responsibility as an educator

3 Understanding of Assessments

Teachers understand and use varied assessments
to inform instruction, evaluate and ensure
student learning.

Teachers use a variety of different instructional mediums such (technology, paper worksheets, group discussions, lectures) and a variety of informative and summative assessments teach and evaluate students in their classrooms

Effective Instruction

Teachers plan and deliver effective instruction that
advances the learning of each individual student.

Teachers are responsible for not only an effective lesson plan but also effective instruction, and classroom management to all students learn to the best of their ability

5 Learning Environments

Teachers create learning environments that
promote high levels of learning and achievement for all students.

Teachers are responsible for safe, positive, and effective leadership in the classroom

6 Effective Communication

Teachers collaborate and communicate with
students, parents, other educators, administrators
and the community to support student learning.

Teachers need to communicate effectively with parents, other teachers, students, superiors, and anyone in the community in a positive manner to benefit the students

7 Educational Growth and Development

Teachers assume responsibility for professional
growth, performance and involvement as
an individual and as a member of a learning
community.

Teachers needs to ensure they are growing alongside their students so their instruction is as effective as possible by learning new teaching methods, classroom management strategies, and evaluations
